Programs for Everyone!
Preschool Piano Classes
Preschoolers are at the perfect age to start exploring the world of music, and the piano is a great starter instrument! Cognitive development at this stage is enhanced on every level through imaginative musical play (both on and off the piano bench) in a fun, encouraging environment specifically designed for little fingers and inquisitive minds!

Class sizes are purposefully small, with no more than 4-8 students. Each weekly class is 35 minutes long. While a piano is not required for home use in order to take this class, it is highly recommended in the longterm.

"What I love most about Piano Lab is how they are able to come down to a wiggly 4-yr.-old level so easily...They encourage Holly to play things she will use again later ('Happy Birthday,' a familiar song from our church, or her favorite kid songs). This allows her to enjoy every minute of practice time and to be able to play things she is proud of for friends and family." - Heidi L.
We have a unique variety of options for our students to develop their talents!

Private Lessons
Private instruction assists in the continued development of the student's individual, maturing musical voice. As overall technique improves (with more scales, chords, and arpeggios, to use the jargon) and a student starts to really build a wider variety of solo repertoire, private lessons will be especially helpful.

"Piano Lab has been one of the most wonderful things that has happened for my daughter, Kasey. Before piano, my daughter felt lost and couldn't figure out what she liked or was good at. Well now she knows!...Even though she got a late start starting at 14, nothing is stopping her from pushing and working hard to now want to go to a prominent music school, get a scholarship and further her education. I just can't help but to be so proud to see her perform at these recitals and get more confident each time.
Thank you, Piano Lab for working with my daughter and showing her she can do anything, things she didn't even think she could do!" - Jennifer B., Candler, NC
Group Lessons are taught in our state-of-the-art Piano Lab Classrooms (usually only found in college music departments) where all students have their own digital piano. These classes help students to truly enjoy the process of learning to read music and understand rhythms in a more interactive setting (often, easier and quicker learning of these fundamentals occur). They also aid in oft-ignored ensemble skills (which involve deeper listening and focus than just playing by yourself all the time), creating the next generation of sought-after collaborative pianists.
Adult Piano Classes
Studying piano as an adult is an incredibly cathartic experience! Our many adult students (from their 20's through retirement) are always telling us what fun it is & how much faster they're learning than they had originally expected.

As teachers, it's really fun for us to cater the lessons and music directly to what the individual adult student wants. Rather than using a typical beginning curriculum (often designed for children), we make it a point to ensure that our older beginners start out playing melodies and interesting rhythms from Day 1.

Adult Amateur Performance Group
You now have access to a new group of friends if you choose--adults just like you who are learning piano and occasionally like to get together to play for one another in an informal setting (adult beverages & snacks before or after the performance--your choice, lol!) and/or duets or other ensemble music.
Learning what you want on your own terms and at your own pace--that's the joy of learning the piano as an adult.
