Music & Movement Exploration

Feeling a bit overworked and under-rested? Join us for an hour of explorative movement to relax our minds and release physical tension. Allow yourself to step away from everyday stressors and into a place of curiosity, wonder, authenticity, openness, and expansion. Learn to quiet the voices of comparison, criticism, and constriction while embracing the flow and movement that make your body unique.

 

From instructor Lisa Varno: “Students are provided space to explore somatic movement- focusing on the internal experience of the movement rather than the external experience or the result of the movement itself. Students will be offered guidance and then provided with a safe and supportive environment to freely explore one’s own way.”

 

Classes involve a unique blend of Laban Movement, Dalcroze Eurythmics, Somatic Movement, and Hatha Yoga. No prior dance, yoga, or movement experience required.

Classes for ages 7 - 12 and 13 - Adult!

Yoga & Mindfulness for Musicians

It is common knowledge that being a successful musician requires discipline and practice, but did you know that yoga and mindfulness can help you reach your goals? Piano Lab of Asheville is excited to offer a new, highly accessible, mixed-level yoga class for all abilities. Set down your instrument and find your inner peace; permit yourself to relax and restore your focus so you can continue to shine!

 

From instructor Lisa Varno: “Classes are designed specifically for students working with stress, anxiety, and physical tension, and will be tailored to meet the needs of whomever is in attendance. Each class will begin with a flowing yoga practice, and then gently move into stillness with longer held restorative postures and guided meditation.”

 

All levels welcome and celebrated! No prior yoga experience necessary.
